I installed a cap ontop of the piston shaft so that it would not damage the shaft gasket when installing the piston.

I only use food safe Dow Corning 111 lube on espresso machines. A liberal amount was used on the piston shaft.

After seating the piston seals into the group head, it pops right in.

here are the new lever shafts and bushing. These are OEM parts and the same ones used on the Olympia 2002 cremina. I dont know if the originals were a little worn, but these new ones seem to have much tighter tollerences. They are very smooth, and there is very little play in the yolk. I also think that the stainless steel looks much better on the chrome than the original blackish pins
